The project is co-financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021 – 2026
- Brief Description
The project aims to develop an innovative system for estimating power transmission line parameters using optimization algorithms and synchrophasor measurements. The project includes the development of a prototype of the algorithms and their validation on real data in a laboratory environment, with the aim of proving the technical feasibility of the concept and reaching the final Technology Readiness Level of TRL 4.
The developed solution represents a technological breakthrough in the field of monitoring, measurement, and protection of power systems, as it enables a more precise and reliable estimation of line parameters, reduction of errors, and more efficient management of the power grid. At the same time, the project strengthens the research, development, and innovation capacities of the Faculty of Engineering, creates new knowledge and competences, and lays the foundation for further application of research results in cooperation with industry and the power sector.
- General Objective of the Project
The GENERAL OBJECTIVE of the project is to increase the readiness of the Faculty of Engineering for the development of an innovative system for estimating power transmission line parameters, and enhance the faculty’s capacities for research, development, and innovation.
- Project Purpose (Specific Objectives)
- Improving the precision and market applicability of research and development results through the demonstration of an innovative concept
- Strengthening the capacity of the Faculty of Engineering for research, development, and application of innovative solutions in the field of power systems
- Expected Project Results
The expected result of the project is to prove the technical feasibility of an innovative system for real-time estimation of power transmission line parameters using synchrophasor measurements and optimization algorithms. The project will develop and validate a prototype of the algorithms and confirm the possibility of a more precise, adaptive, and reliable estimation of line parameters, contributing to more efficient supervision, protection, and optimization of the power system. In addition, the project result includes documentation for further commercialization and application of the solution under real conditions.
