The Faculty’s chess team won 2nd place at the STEM Games student tournament, held in Umag last week. The chess team members were: Sandro Šafar, Ivan Trošelj, Filip Arapović, Antonio Pavlović and Fran Krsto Pilić.
After 7 rounds of play, the team earned 12 match points, finishing with 5 wins and 2 draws. They narrowly missed the championship title – lacking only a bit of luck and a few extra seconds on the chess clock. With this success, the team continues an impressive 5-year winning streak in chess at this competition, bringing the total result to 3 gold and 2 silver medals. Congratulations to our team on a hard-fought battle at the chessboard!
