The Faculty’s chess team won second place at the STEM Games student tournament, held in Umag last week. The chess team members were Sandro Šafar, Ivan Trošelj, Filip Arapović, Antonio Pavlović, and Fran Krsto Pilić.
After seven rounds of play, the team earned 12 match points, finishing with five wins and two draws. They narrowly missed the championship title, lacking only a bit of luck and a few extra seconds on the chess clock. With this success, the team continues an impressive five-year podium streak in chess at this competition, bringing their overall tally to three gold and two silver medals.
Congratulations to our team on a hard-fought battle at the chessboard!
