Last week, as part of a two-day event, the KARIKA Project – From Internship to Career: Enhancing the Employability of Students from the Faculty of Engineering (RITEH), University of Rijeka was presented at the Faculty of Engineering. Co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) with a total value exceeding 318,000 euros, the project focuses on improving professional internships and student employability by connecting students with employers and alumni.
The project plans for 245 professional internships featuring dual mentorship, as well as 33 evaluations aimed at improving study programmes. Students will participate in 24 career counseling activities – including workshops, a Job Fair, speed-dating networking sessions, forums, and individual counseling – and 8 alumni events, such as Alumni Days, thematic forums, and a mentorship programme. The Faculty of Engineering (RITEH) will develop a digital platform for managing professional internships and career development, as well as carry out training for mentors and guest lectures by industry experts.
The main objective of the project is to increase the employability of RITEH students through higher-quality and digitized professional internships.
We wish the project team, led by Project Leader Prof. Zoran Jurković, success with the project.
