We are proud to announce our postdoctoral researcher Martin Zlatić, PhD, has been awarded third place for the “CEACM Best Thesis Award.” This international award for young scientists who have recently completed their doctoral degrees has been presented for 25 years by the Central European Association of Computational Mechanics (CEACM). The competition features doctoral candidates from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
The award was presented for his doctoral thesis titled “Constitutive modelling of hyperelastic material behaviour with physics-augmented neural networks,” which explores the application of physics-augmented neural networks in computational mechanics. A particular contribution was made regarding the application of neural networks to thermomechanical behavior and damage modeling of hyperelastic materials, as well as the implementation of customized activation functions.
We congratulate him on this valuable recognition!
