Graduate students of electrical engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka, attended the 18th Electrical Engineering Days in Poreč, one of the region’s largest professional conferences for electrical engineers.

Gathering over 1,500 participants, the conference was also attended by the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Jonatan Lerga. Student attendance enabled the exchange of knowledge and experience with industry professionals, as well as insights into current tech trends and professional growth opportunities.

One of the key conference topics was the application of AI in engineering design, building construction, and power grid management. Students Lea Buršić and Leon Bevanda highlighted AI as a tool capable of enhancing engineering workflows, while emphasizing that fundamental technical knowledge, professional autonomy, and personal responsibility remain irreplaceable.

Taking part in such events helps build a stronger connection between academia and industry, gives students insight into modern engineering practices, and creates opportunities to network with future colleagues and employers.
