{"id":53154,"date":"2026-09-22T12:49:01","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T10:49:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riteh.uniri.hr\/?p=53154"},"modified":"2026-09-29T13:57:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T11:57:14","slug":"best-paper-award-at-the-mipro-robotics-2026-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riteh.uniri.hr\/en\/novosti\/best-paper-award-at-the-mipro-robotics-2026-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Best Paper Award at the MIPRO Robotics 2026 Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The research paper by<strong> Tomislav Bazina, David Liovi\u0107, Jelena Srnec Novak, Adelmo \u0160egota, Leonarda Do\u0161en, Jan Peli\u0107, Igor Mezi\u0107 and Ervin Kamenar<\/strong> won the <strong>Best Paper Award<\/strong> at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mipro.hr\/_Events_\/tabid\/110\/event\/MIPRORobotics2026\/language\/en-US\/Default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MIPRO Robotics 2026 Conference<\/a><\/strong>, held in Zadar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award-winning paper is part of the research conducted within the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/ekamenar.github.io\/projects\/HRZZ_2024_ASoRo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ASoRo project &#8211; Advanced Soft Robots: data-driven development, modeling and control (UIP-2025-02-1541)<\/a><\/strong>. Funded by the <strong>Croatian Science Foundation<\/strong>, the project is being carried out at the <strong>Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka,<\/strong> under the leadership of <strong>Assoc. Prof. Ervin Kamenar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This research integrates the development and design of soft robotic systems, <strong>EMG measurement and muscle activity signal processing, alongside Koopman operator-based modeling and control<\/strong>, with a specific focus on applications in rehabilitation robotics. The primary aim is to establish novel approaches for more effective human-robot interaction and to develop advanced robotic actuators and systems based on the principles of soft robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year marked the <strong>first standalone edition of the MIPRO Robotics Conference<\/strong>, an event dedicated to robotics and related research fields.
