On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka hosted Job.Fair 2026, its annual career and employment fair. This renowned event once again offered attendees up-to-date insights into job market trends, job opportunities, and career guidance tailored for both their academic years and post-graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event kicked off with an official opening by the Dean, Prof. Lado Kranj\u010devi\u0107, PhD, who highlighted key updates at the Faculty. Regarding the existing study programs in mechanical engineering, naval architecture, electrical engineering, computer science, and mechatronics and robotics, he noted a strategic increase in enrollment quotas for mechatronics and robotics. Furthermore, to meet evolving market demands, he announced new study programs: a degree in AI and Digital Engineering, and a part-time professional program in Naval Architecture focused on small craft and yacht design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year\u2019s fair gathered a large number of visitors, featuring a diverse lineup of 27 renowned companies. Students were able to connect directly with representatives to explore manufacturing and development programs, job openings, and internship opportunities from companies including AITAC, Alarm automatika, Aventa Adriatic, Daikin Hrvatska, Danieli-Systec, Elcon Geraetebau, Elixirr Digital, Istragrafika, IHC Engineering Croatia, JANAF, JATRO, Klimaoprema, KNAPP Hrvatska, L\u00fcrssen Design Center Kvarner, Montelektro, Mundus Prime, Navis Consult (Kongsberg Maritime), PK \u2013 Palfinger Kran, Rheinmetall, RIS, Seelution, Span, TDR & BAT, TSI, TTO Thermotechnik, Vard Design Liburna, and Vertiv Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event serves as an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable insights into the current state of the job market and discover which skills and competencies employers value most when hiring. At the same time, participating companies gain direct access to prospective employees from highly sought-after STEM fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the course of the six-hour event, visitors engaged with company representatives to ask about business operations and workplace culture, clearing up common uncertainties before taking their first steps into the professional world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event\u2019s value extended beyond university students; the strong turnout of high schoolers proved that such fairs are equally beneficial for mapping out future academic paths. Graduating seniors from the Andrija Mohorovi\u010di\u0107 Gymnasium noted that events like this make it much easier to visualize where their interests could take them. They emphasized that the visit solidified their university plans, as they are looking to enroll in the mechanical engineering, computer science, or mechatronics and robotics study programs at Rijeka\u2019s Faculty of Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Employers also took the opportunity to offer motivational words of wisdom to the next generation of professionals. \u201cThe most important thing is to be genuinely passionate about what you do, to come to work motivated, and to choose a field you truly love\u2014one that you eagerly explore even in your free time,\u201d shared representatives from the IT company Span.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
