The donation will be directed towards enhancing the educational opportunities for students, with a particular focus on developing skills in CNC manufacturing and CAD\/CAM technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gene Haas Foundation was established in 1999 by Gene Haas, the founder of Haas Automation, one of the world`s leading manufacturers of CNC equipment. The Foundation is committed to advancing education in industrial manufacturing and promoting engineering careers among young people. Through its activities, the Foundation provides scholarships for students, sponsorship of competitive teams, supports teacher training programs, and participates in the development of educational centers worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its founding, the Gene Haas Foundation has donated over $225 million to educational institutions and programs, significantly contributing to the development of education in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to this donation, the Faculty of Engineering University of Rijeka has equiped a classroom with state-of-the-art computers and tools, enabling students to gain hands-on experience and acquire the necessary knowledge to successfully enter the industrial workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about the Gene Haas Foundation, please visit their official website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghaasfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.ghaasfoundation.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>__________________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>June 19, 2024,<\/strong> a presentation of the <strong>multi-axis CNC machining center development project (turn-mill) <\/strong>was held at 11:30 a.m. in the Counsel Hall of the Faculty of Engineering University of Rijeka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s development of machine tools as mechatronic devices implies a wide spectrum of knowledge. Therefore, this presentation is the product of the presenter, <strong>Mr. \u017deljko Pavlovi\u0107&#8217;s <\/strong>many years of interest and knowledge in areas related to <strong>production technologies and processes, construction, pneumatics and hydraulics, electronics, and machine control<\/strong>. His innovative spirit and energy are key to the realization of this idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar solutions exist on the global market, but this prototype solution surpasses the existing ones with a different approach. The interestingness of the presented concept lies in the combination of possibilities provided by the machine for <strong>industrial use<\/strong> and the specificity brought with it by solutions intended for <strong>schools, colleges, educational institutions in general, and hobbyists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>__________________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday, February 1<sup>st<\/sup> and Friday, February 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, &#8220;Open Laboratory Days&#8221; were held at the Faculty of Engineering University of Rijeka, gathering a total of 640 students from 14 Croatian high schools. The work of the Laboratory for Intelligent Machine Tools and Machining Systems was presented and demonstrated to the students by doc.dr.sc. Graciela \u0160terpin Vali\u0107, assistant Hana Vukoti\u0107 and senior laboratory technician Bernardo Badurina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>__________________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In our Laboratory we use <a href=\"https:\/\/robodk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RoboDK<\/a> for simulation and offline programming of industrial robots. Thanks to understanding the Laboratory&#8217;s need for an appropriate software solution in robot programming, the <strong><em>Robo DK <\/em><\/strong>donated 30 <a href=\"https:\/\/robodk.com\/pricing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">educational licenses<\/a> for one classroom at the Faculty of Engineering University of Rijeka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Achievement of Laboratory, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2073-4360\/11\/8\/1248\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the article published<\/a> in Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/journal\/polymers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polymers<\/a> (MDPI, ISSN 2073-4360) highly viewed and downloaded papers published in the 2019 year. In addition to working with students on various CAD \/ CAM projects, the applications of CNC technology and reverse engineering activities of the Laboratory has also focused on cooperation with business subjects from the domain of mentioned technologies application.
