Innovamare Technologies Develops Autonomous Vessel for Maritime Surveillance

Rijeka-based company Innovamare Technologies is advancing the development of Faust V, a multipurpose autonomous surface vessel. Attila Marašek, a graduating master's student at the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka, is actively involved in the project.

Rijeka-based company Innovamare Technologies is advancing the development of Faust V, a multipurpose autonomous surface vessel. Attila Marašek, a graduating master’s student at the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka, is actively involved in the project.

Measuring 2.1 meters in length, Faust V is designed for maritime traffic monitoring, detecting illegal anchoring and speeding, seabed mapping, and collecting floating debris. Powered by a battery system with up to six hours of runtime, the vessel uses onboard LIDAR sensors for collision avoidance. Recent upgrades include six cameras and a Starlink satellite connection, bypassing 5G coverage limitations to ensure reliable data transmission regardless of distance from shore.

Alongside this, Marašek is leading the development of a second, smaller autonomous vessel – under one meter in length – tailored specifically for marina environments. He is currently designing the hardware and power system for this compact model, intended for port monitoring, debris removal, and easy transport.
