This academic year, the Faculty of Engineering welcomed nearly 300 new students ready to embark on their higher education journey.
The new generation of students in mechanical engineering, naval architecture, electrical engineering, computer science, and mechatronics and robotics was welcomed by the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Jonatan Lerga. In his address, he emphasized the significance of joining the academic community and wished all incoming students great success, perseverance, and excellent results throughout their studies. The students were also provided with a detailed overview of their respective study programmes, curriculum structure, course organization, and the academic expectations awaiting them in the upcoming semesters.
Alongside essential academic information, the students had the opportunity to meet the heads of their study programmes, who will serve as their support system throughout their education. They were introduced to the activities of student project teams and the Student Council, offering them a glimpse into the Faculty’s dynamic extracurricular life. Special emphasis was also placed on international exchange and professional development opportunities through the Erasmus mobility programme, providing students the possibilities of invaluable experience of studying abroad.
The Faculty of Engineering would also like to express its special gratitude to the KNAPP Company for its sponsorship, which funded T-shirts for all first-year students, ensuring them a warm welcome at the very beginning of their studies.
